Goal 5

We will do this by:

1. Taking a leadership role on tropical and desert climate solutions
˃ Reduce the University’s carbon footprint.
˃ Reduce greenhouse gas emissions resulting from staff and student transport.
˃ Establish emissions targets.
˃ Embed climate solutions-related knowledge in curriculum and seek to develop new courses in this sphere.
˃ Partner with other universities, governments and industries to expand knowledge in climate solutions.
˃ Support staff and students to pursue sustainability activities and climate solutions.

2. Being fiscally responsible
˃ Ensure the University’s annual budget delivers a sustainable financial outcome with a surplus available for re-investment in the future.
˃ Align the five year Investment Plan with the goals of the Strategic Plan to enable appropriate funding to deliver outcomes.
˃ Increase and diversify our revenue.

3. Leveraging our assets
˃ Ensure efficient and effective Campus Masterplanning.
˃ Achieve the vision for the CDU Education and Community Precinct as a key part of the Darwin City Deal.
˃ Explore industry collaboration and colocation to better utilise assets.
˃ Develop energy-efficient solutions for CDU facilities and infrastructure.
˃ Reinvigorate our internal recycling system.
˃ Model environmentally innovative operations wherever possible.
˃ Minimise the CDU environmental impact through ethical procurement.
